Buffalo
Endurance on the plains
African buffalo are symbols of strength and unpredictability. Found in massive herds or alone as ‘dagga boys,’ they command respect in the wild. My photography often captures the tension in buffalo — the stare of an individual, the surge of a herd, the dust and energy of movement.Buffalo are less graceful than other Big Five species, yet their collective power makes them unforgettable. Light and dust often add drama to their scenes. In the Sabi Sands, I watched hundreds descend into a watering hole in near silence. In Kruger, a solitary bull stood guard, gently swaying — immovable and commanding respect.
